The Type is in the Process
You wouldn’t expect to find a type foundry in Minneapolis, at least it’s probably not the first place that you would have thought of if asked, but that is where Eric Olson has decided to make his nest and he probably won’t be going anywhere for quite some time. The Process Type Foundry caters to all type of customers, from those seeking commercially available typefaces to folks like the Walker Art Center who need custom designed type to fit their brand identity. Either way, it can all be found here on their site, so head on over and check them out. Enjoy, and be Inspired.

Busk
A street artist whose interests extend into the world of typography and much much more, BUSK has been very prolific in his short career so far. An elusive artist from Austria his work ranges from corporate identity to street art (or City Modification (CMOD) as he refers to it), but what really draws you in is the personal expression that can be found in his type studies. Check out his site, and interview, and some Flickr pics to get to know him a little better.

From 3-pixel high fonts for video games to hand-written calligraphic fonts based on his grandmothers calligraphy work book, you can see that he really loves all kinds of typography and is not afraid to try out new things. So next time you’re in Austria, keep your eyes out for four really well crafted letters and take time to ponder the time spent in their creation. Enjoy, and be Inspired.

The Geometric Book
This book looks incredibly fun and entertaining. Pretty simple and straightforward, it is comprised of a collection of illustrations made with various geometric patterns. But with all of the variations, it looks like it would be hours worth of fun to pore through. And, as a bonus, it comes with 100 geometric patternfonts that you can use to your little heart’s desire to create your own patterns. The first book to be published by Kapitza Books, I can’t wait to see what else they start to offer. Learn more and purchase the book right here. Enjoy, and be Inspired.

Books, James Bond Books…
I’m not the biggest of James Bond fans, but the most recent movie has some great design surrounding it. As do a lot of the other ones, I’m not saying that this is the only one, just focusing on it today. I mean just check out the title logo, freaking sweet. That’s some pretty nice usage of the Neutraface Typeface by House Industries. With a new Q that is, the letterform, not the character, shit yes it is still a character, but not a character in the movie.

Some other outstanding work is this book cover for Penguin Books done by Angus Hyland and Fabian Herrmann from Pentagram. Outstanding, there’s more to be found hidden beneath that little semi-slip-cover as well. Find out more after the jump. Enjoy, and be Inspired.

Found Type vol 10, Old Town
Another Sunday, more found type, hooray! Here is the latest update from Wichita, Kansas this time. All of these photos were found in the ‘Old Town’ district in the heart of downtown (where I work these days). Enjoy, and be Inspired!
